Mount Vernon Nazarene University will be embarking on another Downtown Mt. Vernon project. Adding to their two existing Downtown campus buildings, MVNU will undertake the construction of a new hotel on the historic Mt. Vernon Square. Mt. Vernon's history as a crossroads for travelers in Ohio will be revived with the addition of this 4 story, 47 room sophisticated hotel.
Designed to replicate the historic hotel (Curtis Inn) that stood on the site in the late 1800's, the new hotel will be a modern interpretation of Victorian design elements and details. Designs will be completed through the winter and construction will commence in the spring of 2014. The hotel will have a conference center as well as 10 unique Victorian era suites. The lobby and breakfast area will lead out to a covered balcony that overlooks the square and Main Street, once again harkening back to the hotel experience from the 1800's.
Businesses such as The Ariel Corporation and Rolls Royce, as well as MVNU, are expected to provide a steady stream of guests to the hotel. Recreational tourists using the new bike path and the new Ariel-Foundation Park are also expected to use the new bike friendly hotel.
