SōL Harris/Day Architecture continued the fight against hunger by participating in this year's CANstruction project, bringing in multiple awards for the company and, most importantly, thousands of cans of food for the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank. This year's competitors brought in a total of 3,223 pounds of food that will feed 2,685 people locally.
The theme of the event, "Rubber City", inspired the SHD team to utilize 2,212 cans to build a Derby car approaching the finish line with the cheering audience behind it. Out of six awards given, SHD earned three: Best Meal, Jurors' Favorite and People's Choice.
SHD is proud to support this fantastic fundraising event, and the team wishes to thank the MANY generous sponsors who helped make it possible. We especially wanted to thank Legacy Oak for letting us use their CNC machine and Bill Eneix (Eneix Enterprises) for taking his time to operate the machine for us.
