Eric Dalpiaz started work for the firm in 2002, growing his responsibilities to Senior Project Manager and IT Director. When ask what the biggest thing he has learned over the past 20 years, Eric responded... "Who says I've learned anything?" You can always expect some comic relief from Eric.
What makes SHD unique?
"The atmosphere of a great group of people all just striving to do their craft well with the clients best interest at heart."
Do you like having a split role with Design and IT?
"It's an enjoyable challenge to get tech in place to help the team do their jobs better and also adjusting our priorities based off projects and/or employee preferences. Plus, I get to learn more about projects I may not be involved with."
What changes have you seen at SHD over the last 20 years?
"Obviously, the technology has moved fast, and I would say because of that the expectations as well. Everyone wants everything faster and cheaper. It's our biggest challenge to deliver projects with tight timelines and budgets with great accuracy and quality."
Favorite Project?
"Well, I don't want to say that any project is better than others. My favorite projects though are the ones that have clients that are great to work with. Our profession often wants something that is a great design in the end, but I'd take a great client first because it's a lot of time together and a lot of stress getting a project completed. Those experiences and relationships are what you remember the most."
