The Plain Township Trustees broke ground on a new 2,500 seat Amphitheater in Plain Township, Ohio. The Trustees were able to utilize COVID Funds distributed to the Township to finance this project. Located in Oakwood Square, they also partnered with local businesses within the Plaza and community. As part of a DORA District, food and drink is able to be purchased at local restaurants and brought over to the Amphitheater, giving a boost to local businesses. It will act as a "hub of activity" that draws in events, performers, and visitors, continuing the revitalization of the area.
The new Amphitheater is designed to be open and flexible, drawing in all types of events and performances for the community to enjoy. The amenities include gas fire pits, covered shade pavilions, sloped lawn seating, and a freestanding restroom. The design was able to leverage the existing Township Hall, located just behind the stage, for production space and a green room for talent use. The parking lot will undergo improvements as well as wayfinding around town. Look for the project to be complete around summer/fall of 2023.
