Focused on the question, “How can we improve our member experience”, Westbrook Country Club embarked on a study to review their facilities. Simplifying the circulation to and from the course was key. After careful examination, a masterplan was developed as a “roadmap” for success, providing a destination for members and offering the ultimate golf experience on and off the course.
The project has begun with the demolition of their current locker rooms and pro shop and a new, three-story, 37,000 sf building going up in their place. The front face of this addition is covered in balconies that offer views of the course. Guests will enter into a new, large lobby with a dome that gives Westbrook a truly memorable look. The building will contain a golf cart and bag storage area in the lower level; the pro shop and locker rooms on the main level, with direct connections to the existing clubhouse and pool area; and an upper level with a workout area, Champions Lounge, two indoor golf simulators, and a bar area overlooking the golf course.
On the other side of the existing Clubhouse, a new 250-person, banquet pavilion with a serving kitchen and restrooms is being added. The pavilion can be fully enclosed for weddings and events year-round and, when the weather is nice, 10’ tall operable glass panels can be opened for a direct connection to the golf course and beautiful views from atop the hill.
