Getting to Know Alexis as She Celebrates 1 Year

Where would SōL Harris/Day be without the people who work for us? Without their hard work, dedication and knowledge, we wouldn't be so successful and celebrating 55 years in business. This is why we love to recognize the milestones of our team! Join us in congratulating Alexis Hunter, Architectural Designer, on her one year anniversary! Understanding people is the key to success not only with our clients but with our staff as well. Here is some of what we learned from Alexis after a year of being a valuable part of our team:

What made you choose SōL Harris/Day?

"In my last semester at Kent State University, I knew I wanted to stay in Northeast Ohio after graduation. I wanted to work on local projects and for a firm that believes in strengthening the local community. After meeting some of the partners and staff here I knew that this is where I wanted to be. The SHD team is kind, supportive, collaborative, welcoming and fun!"

How has SōL Harris/Day helped you develop as an Architectural Designer?

"SHD has helped me develop as an architectural designer by giving me opportunities to work on different types of projects throughout this first year. I have worked on new construction schools, renovated schools, recreational facility renovations, office renovations, and more. The SHD team is very friendly and the mentorships I have received have been very helpful."

What is your favorite part of the job?

"My favorite part of my job is going on job site visits. I like to see the 3D model/drawings that our team puts together come to life. I enjoy learning on site and expanding my knowledge by asking questions and attending progress meetings."
