A lot can happen in a year... Bryan Ziga understands this all too well as he reflects on the events of the past year at SōL Harris/Day. During the this time he has had many opportunities to dive in and learn from new projects, clients and coworkers. Bryan has also been able to share his experiences to bring success to our clients. His hard work helped him pass his architectural exams to officially become a Registered Architect during this time. Check out what Bryan's perspective of the firm and architecture after a year with SHD...
What do you see as SHD's strengths?
"We are dedicated to our local communities. Although we serve a lot of areas, it is likely someone calls each place home or has a relationship with the client we are serving. This personal connection is evident in the projects we create."
What is your favorite part of your job?
"My favorite part of the job is the constant learning. One day I’m researching a problem, a month later I’m teaching someone from that experience and a year later I’m presenting at a conference."
Have you seen any shifts in architecture over the last year?
"Everyone’s still talking about Sustainability and AI but they are at very different points in the conversation. We have been talking about sustainability for a while and now is an opportune time. Manufacturers have finally caught up to the demand from designers to provide us with the products and documentation that we need. Being sustainable is getting easier every day. AI on the other hand has helped me write an email that I then read and rewrote before I sent it out."
