As a long-time host of some of the most prestigious PGA Tour events, Firestone Country Club is an internationally recognized golf destination with a long-standing reputation for exceptional golf, hospitality, and corporate entertaining. With approximately 90% of its corporate clientele traveling from outside the area, the Club’s success is closely tied to its ability to provide a complete destination experience—one that extends well beyond the golf course to include dining, entertainment, and overnight accommodations. Firestone has strategically evolved its Country Club into a sought-after destination through a series of thoughtful additions and renovations. They have reimagined the spaces through enhancements to the clubhouse, expanded outdoor amenities, elevated dining experiences, and the development of new villas for overnight guests. Each improvement has been carefully considered to strengthen the overall experience while building upon Firestone’s established reputation.
A significant two-story addition to the Clubhouse, created an iconic clock tower that has become a Club fixture since the PGA golf tournaments. Along with the clock tower and wrapping stairs, the addition added two dining areas and an elevator. The lower, enclosed dining area and upper style patio areas take full advantage of the views of the South course.
Firestone’s grille room was another central focus of renovations since it is the center of activity on a daily basis. Members and guests congregate in the Grille Room for breakfast or lunch before teeing off and drinks after finishing a round. The location is ideal, as the restaurant has tremendous views of the South Course’s ninth green and the rolling hills of property beyond. When Firestone decided that the entire grille room, ala carte kitchen and adjacent entry hallway and restrooms needed to be expanded and renovated, they mandated that it be during the winter months when the club is closed. Planning was done in the late summer and fall, and construction started just as the club closed in November. The project was completed in April just as the club was reopening. Even with a mid-construction owner change to further expand the space, the new grille room and kitchen opened when golfers returned to the property. The fresh, new, light-filled grille room is now more than ever the center of the day for those playing eighteen holes.
Firestone Country Club, at one time, had only 30 lockers for women. The new, expanded locker room space created room for 150 lockers. Upscale restrooms and soft seating areas make the Ladies Locker room one of the nicest spaces on the property, elevating the member and guest experience.
Recent designs offer enhanced arrival and after golf experiences. The covered bag drop provides a clear visual focal point for the arriving guests. After golf, the new outdoor dining area is set around a fire pit that is served by a small kitchen immediately adjacent to the patio. Sun and shade are both options for guests, as a heavy timber framed roof covers part of the patio, leaving some of the dining in the sun. This has become a popular gathering area as it is adjacent to the ninth green and tenth tee, creating an inclusive golf back drop at this historic course.
With three courses on the Firestone Country Club property, the Lodge was designed to serve as a multipurpose space for serving day-to-day lunch close to the Fazio Course. The space is quickly converted into a premium audio-visual space in the evenings. A huge screen envelops on-property guests with a life-like sports event experience. Groups staying at the club have built in entertainment during the evening. A bar in the Lodge is a natural complement to a night of watching sports. Events of up to 100 people can also be held at the Lodge, making it a great place to host a medium size event.
To fulfill overnight course needs for traveling guests, 8 large villas and 12 Condos were strategically placed on the property to accommodate groups of 8 people. Each villa has individual hotel style rooms with a large common living / dining / kitchen area. All the villas were designed to overlook significant areas of the golf course and take advantage of the scenic beauty of the property. They were originally designed with the ability to serve as hospitality suites during the annual PGA Tour event. Because of this, they have a high level of finishes and amenities that complimented this world class golf destination experience.
Firestone Country Club is a bucket list destination for the golfing world. The range of amenities on the property along with its history of hosting World Class Professional Golf Events make this one of the most desirable golfing locations in the world.
