The Park Centre “mixed use” retail center was a very dated, tired building that was full of overgrown trees and offered poor visibility for the tenants. The owner, DeHoff Development, was looking for a way to make the current structure more visible and appealing to clients and customers. The challenge was to create a new exterior that utilized the existing openings, pilasters, façade variations and interior spaces. This was purely an exterior facade renovation.
The new design completely transformed the image of the retail plaza, introducing bold colors and clean lines to draw attention to tenant entries. The exterior design balances colors, textures and the articulation of elements to unify the retail center while creating variation along a quarter mile facade. Overgrown trees were removed and replaced to open up views to the businesses, and parking was increased for ease of access.
Once it was complete, many within the local community thought this was a new building.
