A glass and panel fabricator / installer should have an office building that leaves no doubt about the quality of the product that they provide. They should also have a collaborative work environment while simultaneously providing privacy for louder “contractor moments”. These requirements were starting points for United Glass and Panel Systems’ office renovation project.
Rather than constructing a new office building, United Glass purchased a neglected building that had been vacant for several years. The location was highly visible and the perfect opportunity to display the products and quality workmenship of United Glass. Featuring glazing systems, metal siding, and panels, the office design is a show case of different textures colors and patterns. The blue tinted glass, relating back to the corporate brand, was designed with a custom pattern to achieve a “ripple” effect and help with interior sun shading for the west facing offices. The warmth of the cedar siding welcomes visitors under the new entrance canopy.
We were so lucky to have [SHD] engaged in the design of this exciting masterpiece. You have a true talent of design and flow; you also have an outstanding ability to listen to your clients’ needs and replicate their brand within the design.

Creating transparency and views outside from all workstations was a priority. Frameless glass walls and doors define private offices which are designed into the core of the office building to allow natural light to penetrate all interior spaces. LED lighting in minimalist, linear fixtures highlights crisp, bright interiors. Open, exposed ceilings are balanced with acoustic ceilings to keep noise levels comfortable. Crisp white surfaces contrast with vibrant pops of color on the floors, walls, and upholstered workstation panels. A red cedar planked wall in the main conference room and a mix of wood and white surfaces throughout bring warmth to the office design.
